Jon the Baptist

JON THE BAPTIST

"Finally they said, 'Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?'
John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, 'I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Make straight the way for the LORD.'"

Now the Pharisees who had been sent questioned him, 'Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?"

"I baptize with water," John replied, "but among you stands one you do not know. He (Jesus) is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie." -Gospel of John 1:22-27

Questions Want Answers

I'm not sure why there are nights I can't sleep, but things just weigh heavy on me and I get uncomfortable. Truth is, I'm insecure and in desperate need of a Solid Rock faith. Something to just lay down my burdens, my pride, my shortcomings, my expectations, my dreams, and my wants on. I have so many questions, and these questions want answers. Everyone knows I'm in over my head, but these questions are still on my mind. I've got to be willing to lose the arguments, and be content with losing control of my so called dream world. I always think about my purpose in life, and then I immediately think about my passion - what makes my heart beat. My passion is bridging cultural gaps. I don't know why, but I somehow learned Chinese in less than a year. I can't tell you how or why, but I know I need to be a "bridge leader" wherever I am in this so called small world. There are so many gaps in this crazy beautiful world. Whether physical or metaphysical, I believe that people can use their inner power to be a change agent for others. Worldly speaking for practicality's sake, I believe in social entrepreneurship. Why not use our passions alongside inventions for the betterment of society? This is a trendy subject, but I don't think enough people are fully tapping into for-profit businesses that truly make a difference. Orphans. Slaves. Pollutants. Poverty. All social injustices lead to poverty. The wealthy are responsible for making the difference. My calling is to be a catalyst for change so as to bridge the gap between the wealthy and the poor. A rather daunting task if you ask me! I'm a mere man studying at an unknown university, in a state that is best known for it's fried chicken. My heart is still beating, and I know I'm not alone in this race. I find this quite comforting :)
"Sometimes I'd like to ask God why He allows poverty, famine, and injustice in the world when He could do something about it...but I'm afraid God might ask me the same question." -Anonymous

  1. The narrow-gap-leader Jon!

There are always no BEST answers until things happened.
Recently, i have heard sentence: 'PAST is always the BEST', will you agree to that?
i definitely think you can change it because 'TOMORROW will be fine'.

Every day we step, we live, we laugh, we all got our destiny. So no need to urge to find out any answer for any specific question as you always say 'he' will lead us to the road.

AND I believe in you! I believe you can affect quite a lot on narrowding down any gap!
    DO YOU BEST! Blesss :)
